Our fundraisers

From time to time we organize activities to raise funds for research on FOP. The full 100% of the money raised will be transferred to the IFOPA (International FOP Association) to benefit research!
Costs associated with the fundraisers are paid for by ourselves or by our sponsors. On the homepage you can see how much money is collected in total for research into FOP
Of course we welcome any initiatives and help!!

Pentecost
2014: Envelopes draw during the Open Days on Ostrich Farm ‘Monnikenwerve’ in Sluis. Again we were present and we raised a magnificent sum again. Due to personal circumstances we were not able to have more fundraisers this year.
Pentecost 2013: Envelopes draw
It has become a tradition: Thanks to the Ostrich Farm ‘Monnikenwerve’ in Sluis we were present with a booth stand with an envelopes draw. Three days of large crowds, many interested people who wanted to know about FOP and who also wanted to support our campaign. Again, thanks to all our sponsors who each year provide an amazing load of prizes. Thanks to you 100% of the money raised can go to research !!
Christmas 2012: Origami crane campaign
More than 2,200 birds folded, in the hope that the Japanese tradition will lead that our wish will come true: A cure for FOP. For more information about this wonderful and successful campaign, see thespecial page.
Pentecost 2012: Envelopes draw
This year we were back on the Whitsun weekend at the Ostrich Farm Monnikenwerve in Sluis with a booth where people could draw envelopes. Because of the beautiful weather, we had a lesser crowd this year, but in three days we still raised a wonderful amount for research on FOP. The Ostrich Farm doesn’t charge us for our booth.
March 2012: Zwin Urban Run
When a call came from the organization of the Zwin Urban Run, if we perhaps wanted to be the designated charity this year we didn’t have to think it over! On March 18 we were present with the whole family for the launch of the Kidsrun through the center of Sluis, where a number of Yorick's school buddies also participated. Of course we all saw them finish. At the end of the day the organization surprised us with a wonderful donation of 500 euros.
Autumn 2011: 3rd Christmas cards campaign
Both the mother and sister of Yorick worked this year on the designs of the third set of cards. A record number of 14 stores contributed to the spread of the campaign. Local TV network ‘Omroep Zeeland’ surprised our family with a request for both a radio interview and a television item in context of the week of the rare diseases. In total, more than 500 sets of cards were distributed to donors.
Whitsun and Summer 2011: Envelopes draw
During the Pentecost weekend on the Ostrich Farm and during the Summer Fete in Aardenburg our foundation was present with a booth where people could draw Envelopes. Sponsors know where to find us and keep giving us prices for our campaign. This allowed many visitors of the Open Days and Summer Fete to take one or more prizes home. And thereby we again received a wonderful amount for research on FOP. Thanks also to the organizers of both events, which again supplied us with a booth without costs.
February 2011
The children of the former Reformed Church in Oostburg saved up a whole year to contribute to a cure for FOP. With a big check the total amount raised was announced. We were speechless when the amount of no less than 425 euros came forth. On behalf of our family we have praised the children for their effort!
Autumn 2010: 2nd Christmas cards campaign
Thanks to photographer Reggie Goole from Aardenburg (Studio72) we again were able to produce a beautiful set of cards, this year, of course, with photos of Christmas themes. Thanks to the sponsorship of various companies, family and friends the sets could be printed so that all donations can be sent to the research team in America. Over 700 sets were distributed to donors. This year the cards were available at 12 stores, therefore the entire region had an outlet nearby. We could also again be found this year at the Christmas Crafts Fair.
Whitsun and summer 2010: Envelopes draw
During the Pentecost weekend on the Ostrich Farm and Summer Fete in Aardenburg we were present with a booth where people could draw envelopes. All the prices were provided by sponsors (enough for a crowded booth for 5 days!) wherefor 100% of the money raised could be sent to the research team in America. At the Summer Fete we were even interviewed on radio broadcast ‘Omroep Zeeland’.
March 2010: Benefit Performance Decatoneel
The players from ‘Decatoneel’ specially came to the city of Sint Kruis to give an extra performance of their comedy "Salto Mortale". The audience was very enthusiastic and could appreciate the wonderful performance. All profit was designated to the research on FOP, partly because everyone involved unselfishly cooperated in the event. The revelry became even more enhanced by a very generous gift from Rotary Oostburg.
March 2010: Children's Clothing Fair Terneuzen
The Foundation ‘Kinderkleding- en speelgoedbeurs Terneuzen’ donated most of the proceeds of their biannual Children’s Clothing Fair to the research on FOP. In addition Yorick received a beautiful bird's nest swing, so he finally can swing again.
Autumn 2009: Christmas Card Campaign
Saskia, the mother of Yorick, designed the first set of five cards. A first edition of 200 sets was sold in record time. Several reprints followed, in total 1,000 sets of Christmas cards were handed out to people who gave a donation to the research on FOP. We also were funded with a booth at the Christmas Crafts Fair in Aardenburg for our Christmas card campaign. In total the amazing amount of over 8500 euros was collected with this campaign, which has been transferred to the research team in America. This great result has been made possible by the tremendous efforts of many friends and acquaintances, local businesses and shops. Everyone thanks for all your help!
Spring 2009: Penn Action
A campaign that was rolled out at several clubs that we are a member of. It was announced in advance by mail, to tell about the importance of raising enough money to support the research team. Anyone who made a donation was rewarded with as a pen. This campaign was also followed up by Modehuis Van Daalen and Ostrich Farm Monnikenwerve.
July 2009: Coin Tossing
By invitation of childcare center 'De Opkikker' we co-hosted a stall at the annual bazaar. People who were interested could try to throw a coin into a glass that was on the bottom of a filled aquarium. Anyone who managed to get the coin in the glass was rewarded with a prize like a pen or a stuffed animal.
